Opening-XX-J6 (English version)

                                文:交通大學六子棋研究小組(台灣)

situation:black win
j10 h8 j6

This move is intended to confuse opponent. This move has been used in the TNI cup.

This is not a regular move, since B can win by a simple move.

situation:black win
j10 h8 j6 j11 i10

This is solved by waynechen, and has been verified by NCTU6.

The following variations are tried by consulting with NCTU6.

 situation:black win
 j10 h8 j6 j11 i10 i7 g9 f10 k5
Since White 2 is too far, it is hard for W to defend. This could be the best defense.

Variation 1 :

situation:black win
j10 h8 j6 j11 i10 i7 g9 f10 k5 g10 g7 g8 h9 f7 k12 j9 h7

For this variation, Black still needs to be careful as shown.

Black could have other winning moves. However, Black may lose for careless moves.

 Variation 2 (Another strong defense):
situation:black win
j10 h8 j6 j11 i10 i7 g9 f10 k5 h10 j8 k10 l10 n10 l8 l9 m8 n7 i12 h9 g8 f7 k12 j12 j9 j13 m9 k8 k7 k6 l7 l11 m12 n13 h7 h11 l13 l12 g12 n11 o10 p9 k14 k11 m10

This is another strong defense.

There are many moves in this winning sequence. In addition to some single threats, Black 15 is an interesting anti-threat move.

If White 16 plays with Live3 to defending Black's Live3 in the upper-left side, White still loses. It is left as an puzzle exercise for readers.

Variation 3 :

situation:black win
j10 h8 j6 j11 i10 i7 g9 f10 k5 h10 j12 i11 h11

This is the third variation.

It looks like promising for White, since White defends two Live2 and form a Live3. However, the Black move including one Live3 and 3 Live3 as shown in this picture makes White have no chances to turn around.

Variation 4 :

situation:black win
j10 h8 j6 j11 i10 i7 g9 f10 k5 g10 g12 g11 i11
The same, Black makes a Live3 which makes White have no chances.

Other Variation 1 :

situation:black win
j10 h8 j6 j11 i10 g9 f10 i7 j12

The same. Black makes one Live3 and three Live2.

White has no chances.

Another Variation 2 :

situation:black win
j10 h8 j6 j11 i10 h10 j12 k12 h9 g8 l13 k10 m10

It looks like Black can defend two Live2, but Black still wins by playing a double-threat and then a single-threat.

This is a typical puzzle for exercise.
